Set in the heart of rural Sussex, near Battle Penhurst Retreat Centre stands within beautiful and peaceful gardens lying next to the village church. There is a special silent quality and a wonderful sense of stillness there, interrupted only by the geese and ducks on the garden pond and the twice-daily procession of dairy cattle that wander up the lane to be milked.
The 17 th century Manor House contains light and airy bedrooms and a small chapel at the top of the house for meditation and prayer, and downstairs in the main sitting room a large inglenook fireplace which fills the room with wood smoke smells to warm the chill of cooler days. The gardens and orchard provide a beautiful, natural sanctuary, and there are plenty of walks nearby in the Sussex countryside.
A chance to walk in beautiful surroundings or just rest and relax in the comfort and peacefulness of the house. A chance to stop and be still with the opportunity to indulge in a Complementary Therapy to induce a sense of well-being. The whole experience is designed to give you the chance to switch off from the stresses and strains of a busy life, to recharge your batteries and allow time for you.
